Happy Grandparents Day!

Our boys have the BEST grandparents around!

A tractor...

My dad loves projects (I might have inherited this trait from him). Recently he's been working on fixing up the old John Deere tractor that Ben grew up playing with. He bought a new steering wheel and decals, and repainted the entire thing bright green. He finally finished it yesterday afternoon, so Henry got to try it out!

Henry really liked the tractor...

Until he realized there was a basketball hoop & ball nearby (sorry dad)...

But after awhile he found his way back to the tractor...

With grandpa pushing him he had lots of fun!

Good job on the tractor, dad!

Tennis with Grandpa Bob...

Grandpa Bob loves to play (& watch & teach & umpire) tennis. He even set up a tennis ball on a string in the backyard for Henry to practice hitting when he comes over. Henry loves this. It's a great set-up...no ball retrieval necessary!

Reading with Grandpa Royce...

My dad stopped by yesterday to share some of his electrical expertise with us. While he was here he read all of Henry's favorite books to him (he has a lot of favorite books :) A treat for both parties involved, I think.

Happy Grandparent's Day!

Because, let's be honest, all Henry's grandparents really want for Grandparent's Day are gratuitous photos of him (at least that's what I think they want). We are happy to oblige :)

Time spent in Rosedale...

Henry and I had lunch with my parents last weekend. I never know who enjoys these visits more, but I guess that's how grandchild/grandparent relationships work, right? Either way, we spent the bulk of our time together outside enjoying the beautiful weather. Here are a few pictures of our time together...

Henry put his feet in the pool and got his clothes a bit wet, so he ended up spending quite a bit of time in his diaper

Henry loves my dad's cell phone. He always keeps it in his breast pocket and it's the first thing Henry reaches for when he picks him up.

Henry's new bath seat...

Last Saturday was the first time that Henry got to try out his new bath seat at Grandpa Royce & Grandma Gail's house. Boy did he love it!

Lounging

One of his current obsessions...sucking on a wet washcloth

Grandma Gail, Aunt Denise, and Henry

Despite its blurriness, I love this picture. My mom's laugh is her most genuine and joyful, I'm glad I have it captured.

After his bath, Henry discovered his mirror image. He loved looking at himself.

Henry & Grandpa Bob...

...at the Crystal Palace. I think Grandpa Bob liked holding Henry just a little bit more than Buck's blueberry muffins. And he really liked those muffins.

Henry's First Dodger Game!

Grandpa Royce & Grandma Gail took Henry to his first Dodger game last night...He did well. Things didn't go quite as smoothly as his first trip to the Grizzlies game, but what could we expect on Manny bobblehead night? The game was a sellout and Manny hit a first-pitch pinch hit grandslam home run straight into "Mannywood"... to say the crowd went wild would be a bit of an understatement. Luckily, my mom had Henry in the bathroom (the ONLY semi-quiet place in the stadium) at this time, so he was spared the eruptive cheering.

Henry traveled well and slept all the way home. We even decided against giving him his nightly bath upon our return and simply swaddled him and put him straight to bed. He slept until 5:15 this morning. Pretty good for such a crazy night. I think minor league baseball might be more Henry's speed for awhile, but a major league game every now-and-then would be ok too. Just maybe not on Manny bobblehead night...

On our way (Henry has lots of Dodger gear...we dressed him in his "batting practice" jersey for our drive)

His eyes stayed wide like this throughout the entire game...that full stadium advertising screen had him mesmerized.

Taking in the game with Grandpa Royce

Apparently it's all the rage to make clothing with baseballs on the baby's butt.

Dodgers' record with Henry present: 1 win, 0 losses
