One week ago today...

...I looked like this (taken right before we walked out the door for the induction):

Now I look like this:

4.26.2009

41 weeks...

...I was kind of hoping I wouldn't have to post these, but here I am...8 days overdue, (although, I can't help but be a tad flattered that our Wee Bee finds my womb to be so hospitable). I refuse to be discouraged about his/her tardiness, there is still much to be thankful for, and in the grand scheme of things as long as we have a healthy baby, the actual date that he/she arrives just doesn't much matter...

These should be the last of the weekly pictures as my doctor will not let me go much longer. So our baby should make his/her appearance by midweek or so. We'll keep you posted.

40 weeks...

John has now taken to grabbing my belly and pretending as though he's going to throw a 2-handed chest pass... As flattering as this is, I think it's time for baby Wiebe to make its appearance.

39 weeks...

Will there be a 40 week picture? Only time will tell.

4.05.2009

38 weeks...

...the doctor says anytime now. But we've heard reports of other couples falling for the false hope of the early baby, only to deliver after their predicted due date. So, we sit patiently and wait for this baby's arrival. I guess it has officially begun...we are on his/her schedule now.

1 more week left of work. Hard to believe. I'm slowing down quite a bit, which is a bit hard for me to accept, but necessary I suppose.

Lots of activity from the baby these days...the dr. even pointed out this obvious trait at our last appointment. Sharon tells me John squirmed around like this as well...she also tells me that he wasn't much of a sleeper early on...

31 weeks...

...the countdown has now reached single digits.

The baby seems to like to hang out on my right side, which makes John think his dreams of a left-handed pitcher may have slipped away. Despite this small (potential) disappointment, the baby's movements are increasing with great strength & regularity. Hopefully this little one will have a penchant for play just like dad.

29 weeks...

...a little late.

...Do I really only have 12 weeks left? Hard to believe

21 weeks...

We had our 20 week ultrasound last week. All was well, which is something that we aren't taking for granted. We were amazed at the great detail the ultrasound provided. A check of the brain, kidneys, stomach, and bladder yielded good news. As did the checks for down syndrome, spina bifida, and a cleft palate. The arm & leg measurements indicated that the baby is growing proportionately. We are grateful for God's provision thus far and pray for steady growth & development in the next 19 weeks and beyond.
