Peppernut making (again)...
This time we made peppernuts with John's extended family on his Grandma Donna's side. The Boese family peppernut making has become an annual Christmas tradition and I personally think that it is such a fun one! We made seven different varieties of peppernuts: molasses, brandy-molasses, orange-almond, norwegian, citrus, anise, and coffee. Each family got to take home a small sample of each kind. Last night after the kids went to bed John and I had a blind taste test to see if we could identify each different cookie. John only got one right and I got them all right (although I won't tell you how many cookies I ate beforehand to "practice" my deciphering :) It just isn't Christmas around here without peppernut making and eating!
