Closet curtains...

I finally finished the curtains for the closet in Charlie's room. A super easy project that took me 3 days to finish...I seriously move at a snail's pace with projects these days. I meant to just use the blue houndstooth for the bottom band, but I didn't have enough, so I had to use the leftover damask fabric on the bottom to make the curtains long enough. Sort of girly, but oh well, the project is done.

A new couch pillow...

New kitchen valance...

I was ready for a new kitchen valance, so I purchased this Nicey Jane fabric and made one during Henry's nap yesterday. I love the fabric, but I'm not sure if I love it in my kitchen...If I happen to find something better then I guess I will just have to use this fabric to make something else. darn.

New couch pillows...

I'm making pillows like crazy these days. Since most of my time is spent at home, I figure I need to make my house as happy as possible. For me, this means lots of great fabric and lots of color! I know this might not be everyone's idea of great decor, but it really works well for me...at least right now ;)

More new bed pillows...

I think my bed pillows are finally done. Yeah!

I had originally purchased this pillow from Target, but for $25 I decided that I'd rather apply that money to fabric, so the pillow was returned. I made my own version...and quite like the way it turned out. To make the rosettes I sewed a fabric tube and then haphazardly shoved the tube underneath my presser foot in a somewhat circular formation. Super fun!

The back (the patchwork strip in the middle was unintentional...I cut my backing fabric too small so I had to add an additional 2 inches to make it work. Turned out cute though!):

The back of the pillow turned out fantastically! I used small scraps to make the bunting, and used a leftover piece of yellow Amy Butler fabric to make a pocket. I'm thinking that I will make a pocket pillow for every bed in our house, then we can use them as little mailboxes and leave little surprise notes for each other. I think that will be fun when Henry starts to draw & write.

Tea towel pillows...

I've had these Martha Stewart tea towels for ages. They've been stashed away, waiting for just the right project. I think I found it! I turned them into pillows for the furniture on our patio. I love the way they turned out. I think I'm going to start hoarding tea towels...they make for such fun, fast, and easy projects.

New bed pillows...

I really like the way my pillows turned out. I used a blue & white striped fabric from ikea for the body and this yellow & gray Denyse Schmidt fabric for the piping. I'd still like to make a few more pillows...not sure what I want them to look like though. Any suggestions?

Bookcase curtains...

I made 2 sets of curtains to cover up the lower 3 shelves of our bookcases. I'm not a huge fan of open storage. I love the look of it, but when it comes right down to it, looking at too much stuff makes me feel a wee bit claustrophobic. Thus the curtains.

I used fabric from Amy Butler's Nigella line on the top, and a painter's drop cloth for the bottom. (I saw the idea of using a drop cloth for a curtain here first). They were a simple project to sew and I love the way they turned out.
