A trip to tennis practice...

Basketball season ended last night and tennis practice started today. The boys and I set out to visit daddy at his first practice of the season. I even let Henry ride his tricycle all the way to the courts while I pushed Charlie in the stroller (this was good exercise for Henry and a good exercise in patience for me...we went VERY slowly :) Henry pedaled his tricycle the entire way, only getting off to walk his trike through the crosswalks. I was pretty proud of him.

This was my view the entire walk...

Charlie managed to stay content in the stroller despite our super slow pace...

Once we got to the courts, this was Henry's face after he learned that daddy did not have any extra tennis rackets for him to play with...

I love Charlie's chubby hands clutching the tennis ball...

After Henry got over the fact that he couldn't play with a tennis racket, he was fairly content riding his tricycle around the unused tennis court...

Charlie and I sat on the ground and watched Henry ride...

Check out his new skill...

Once practice was over, John gave his racket to Henry and let him play for awhile...

Good times. Although, I'm pretty sure we won't be taking the tricycle to the courts with us again soon :)

Tennis practice...

We made one last visit to tennis practice last week before the season wrapped up last Thursday...

Charlie slept right through it...

I think Henry's favorite part about tennis practice might just be the water jug. He's finally coordinated enough to fill up his cup all by himself. I've never seen him drink so much water!...

Getting in to daddy's racket bag...

So long tennis...hello basketball season!

Girls tennis...

John coached girls tennis for the first time this year. I think he surprised even himself with how much he enjoyed it. Henry loved going to the courts to visit daddy...but I think he liked all the attention he got from the girls even more. Taking Henry to a girls tennis practice is so much different than taking him to a boys practice. The boys barely acknowledge him, but the girls hold him and play with him as much as the coach will allow. Henry eats the attention right up!

This isn't a very good picture, but I like how it shows the attention Henry gets from the girls.

Tennis with Grandpa Bob...

Grandpa Bob loves to play (& watch & teach & umpire) tennis. He even set up a tennis ball on a string in the backyard for Henry to practice hitting when he comes over. Henry loves this. It's a great set-up...no ball retrieval necessary!

Tennis practice...

I took Henry to tennis practice again yesterday. It's one of his favorite things to do. He loves watching the big boys play, and if we come at the right time, daddy can hold him and bounce the ball to him which makes him squeal with delight. Maybe one day he'll grow up to love tennis like Grandpa Bob!

Grandma Sharon came to the courts to play with him a bit. He loved that too, of course.
