Yesterday, instead of finishing our fence gates, John and I decided that we needed some R & R. We rationalized that since the 4th is a holiday it was acceptable to be lazy when we would indeed have an extra day to finish our work on the perimeter of the old place. As I am typing this, John is outside working on the gates, and I just sat down after repainting the kitchen backsplash (I couldn't take that wood panel-ish look any longer!).

(If you look closely you might be able to tell that it continues to be impossible for me to perform a task that involves high concentation, without sticking my tongue out. I can thank my dad for this small quirk.)
