I just finished the book Animal, Vegetable, Miracle by Barbara Kingsolver. It chronicles her family's commitment to a year of living on local food alone. I'm beginning to dabble in this idea of local eating. Local food travels far fewer miles to arrive on my plate and it tastes better. Plus, the idea of economizing our food might not be all its cracked up to be. I could say far more on the subject but I'll spare you my diatribe. If the topic interests you, then take a gander at the book, it won't disappoint.

Have you read the Kingsolver's Poinsonwood Bible? It's a great read as well. -Jenny
Thanks for the tip, Katie. Charis is into Barbara Kingsolver and we are both into the local food, but we hadn't heard of this book.
Jenny, I haven't read the Poisonwood Bible, but I would now like to check it out.
David, your mom actually alerted me to the book... I must admit, it is increasing my passion for the "Old Huller".
I'm glad to hear it, Katie.
Your blog is great, by the way.
