It's beginning to look alot like Christmas...

My Christmas decorations have sauntered out of hibernation thanks to my very tall husband (who can reach them, sans ladder, even though they are stored in the rafters of our garage). Below are pictures of our front room. The rest of the house has very few decorative items, so this room will be all that is shown (at least for today).

Our tree...I plan to sew a tree skirt, just not sure which direction I'd like to go yet. So, for now, the blue towel underneath the tree stand will have to do. Um...oh yeah...our tree is...FAKE! Some people see this as the ultimate in holiday scrooge acts, however it works out quite well for us. John is far too busy with basketball to take the time and energy to drive to a tree lot to pick out a tree, which means that it would probably take a great deal of convincing before we ever went, and then it would be halfway through December before we did anything about it. And, besides that, I seem to have the world's worst allergies, so it's just as well that we leave as much dust and dirt outside as possible. It's a win-win situation really.

I just decided that I wanted to hang a wreath in my window, and I love it. I've seen it in magazines for years and for some reason it struck me as complicated, but it really wasn't. I just took some brown ribbon that I had and tied it a few times around the wreath and then hid the knot and presto, I was finished. I intentionally didn't cut the ribbon to size so that when the Christmas season is over I can put it back on it's roll and use it for a future sewing project. 2 birds...1 stone.

The whole picture.
