It all started when I came home from work on Thursday to find a yellow USPS slip tucked neatly in the threshold of my front door that said I had a package at their office. Unfortunately, I discovered the notice well after their business hours and had to wait until Friday after work to retrieve said package. (Side note: I love packages...the feeling that someone loves you...the suspense...the joy...they are truly an under appreciated delight in our email centered world.) Back to my story... Our good friend Cindy W. sent me some Amy Butler fabric that she wasn't going to use, along with the added bonus of her Olivia fabric scraps that I will definitely put to use in the near future. Thank You Thank You to Cindy for helping my weekend start off on the right foot.
On Friday night Denise and I sewed up a storm, as seems to be the norm for us now, and completed a few Christmas presents. (Sorry, no pictures)
Saturday, John and I traveled to the Boese family Christmas peppernut making festivities. We made seven different kinds of peppernuts totally well over 2,000 individual cookies. John's favorite are the Molasses flavored (which makes me feel good, as that was the dough that I brought, courtesy of my Great Grandma Reimer's recipes) and my favorite are the Norwegian (Grandma Donna's recipe). A good time was had by all.
The Mennonite delicacy in all her glory.
This afternoon the Fast extended family met to celebrate the December birthdays of which I'm included (Dec. 8th). We had a delicious tri-tip dinner and enjoyed banana cream pie courtesy of Grandma Net. I handed Denise my camera to take some family shots and below are what were captured.

Lastly, I completed the quadrant pillow for our couch that I'd been dreaming of making. My first quadrant pillow will be given away as a gift as I decided that I needed to tie in all of the fabrics in my house and this pillow would provide just the environment to do so. It brings in the kitchen and dining valance fabrics together with the drapery & couch pillow fabrics. I think it turned out nicely. The color combinations are a bit of a stretch, but they work for me and I think they serve their purpose well. I'm happy with the outcome.

I can't wait to see what you do with the fabric. Like everything else, it will be fabulous! Cindy
I think you should post all your peppernut recipes on here... all I have is the one with anise that tastes like black licorice... not a fan, not a fan at all...
