My mom,
Denise, and I invited G. Sue for a visit. (We call her "G. Sue" because she uses that little abbreviation for herself when she writes us cards or letters. My college roommates: Sheila,
Maurecia, Brooke, Jane, &
Kelly were so enamored with the signature that they insisted on calling her "G. Sue"...and the name just kind of stuck. She has a great-grandson, and she insists that he call her "G-G Sue"...) Anyways, due to a
series of unfortunate events G. Sue is no longer able to drive herself to Bakersfield, so my Aunts
Kaylen & Jill drove her and paid us a visit as well. Many of you are well aware of my grandma's affinity for all things home decor...so, to indulge this side of her, we planned a brief little home tour for her. We started with lunch at my house, went over to Denise's for a short time, and then ended our day at my mom's. Much love & laughter was shared as is usually the case when you spend any time at all with G. Sue.
G. Sue
This picture cracks me up because it is classic G. Sue...she dug this chandelier out of her neighbor's trashcan because she thought someone could use it. Sure enough, we deemed it appropriate for my mom's mini-kitchen makeover (after a coat of oil-rubbed bronze
spray paint, of course).
