I attempted this skirt on my own. I actually "finished" it on Tuesday, but the waistband turned out so terribly that I had to go visit grandma for some help. Of course, with a few simple tricks related to pressing, interfacing, basting, and folding, the waistband was magically transformed from a complete disaster (my work) to perfection (hers). In my defense, she said that the cheap ($1.97/yard) rayon-esque fabric I chose compounded my difficulties. So, cheap fabric is, well, cheap fabric, and acts as such when sewn. Lesson learned. Skirt #3 is already in the works, and the fabric will be much more suitable than that chosen for skirt #2...I'd be nothing without my grandma.

Katie, you are bound to be a professional seamstress in the near future, I can just feel it...
