...So, dearest Cindy W. sent me a very special fabric delivery about a month ago. Apparently Mark W. knows an interior designer who was doing a bit of
"Spring Cleaning" in her Fresno shop. Knowing that Cindy loved fabric, she sent four HUGE boxes of fabric remnants her way. Cindy was shocked at the quantity as these weren't mere fabric scraps, but rather multiple yards of very expensive designer textiles. Being the gem that she is, she picked out the fabrics that she thought I would enjoy and turned around and sent me my very own HUGE box of leftovers. Needless to say, I was in heaven! So my first order of business was to make Cindy a little thank-you tote. The fabric had such a nice weight and was, of course, beautiful, so the bag turned out amazingly well. Pictures are below...
I went with a low, off-center pocket placement for a more free-form look

The interior. (My best pocket project yet. I did a large pocket on the left side and a pocket in a similar size on the right and sewed a seam down the middle to make two pockets that would be perfect for cell phones or a sweet little photo album of her two sweet
grandbabies.)

No, Katie, my thanks go to YOU. And I'm so glad you are back online. I have been checking every single day and was in the midst of "Katie blog withdrawal" symptoms. Cindy
Who IS this amazing Cindy?? She sounds super generous. Cool that you made a tote for her.
Amazing Cindy W. is a friend from college (although she is closer to my parent's age than my own). She is a kindred spirit really.
