Goings on...

I've been up to lots of little things lately. I haven't driven my car since last Saturday and am feeling pretty good about it. Beyond the progress I've made at home. I'm proud of the fact that I have run all of my Shafter errands on foot. I've gone to the Farmer's Market, ATM, library, church, high school, and hardware store, all without using even an ounce of gas. I can save money and keep my heart healthy all at the same time. WooHoo.

I just finished these curtains for Sharon. I didn't actually make the blue curtains, she bought those, but I did add the striped fabric and brown satin ribbon to gussy them up a bit. The fabric and ribbon were incredibly slippery and got squirrly on the machine, but I managed better than I thought I would and thought they turned out rather nicely. The back shows my imperfections, but unless you look closely, no one will ever notice. In exchange for the the curtain work I am now the proud owner of this perfect little stool from Ikea:

I've also updated my blogrolls. My "Friends & Family" section now boasts a very convenient "last updated time" so that all updates will be recognized immediately. The "Sites For Pleasure" section has also been edited and added to. All of the links in this section include blogs of interest to me. Decorating & Sewing seem to dominate their themes. I know none of these people but find myself continually inspired by the work that they do. Hope you find the changes to your liking.
