My Weekend...

It all began on the the 710 train to Hanford. I left the Wasco Depot at 7:42 am and arrived in Hanford at 8:33. Gene and Kelly were gracious enough to pick me up and host me for the day. We had a delightful time chatting and I enjoyed the tour they gave me of their home and garden. Dearest Kelly even planted tomato seeds for me and is graciously playing host to them until I can plant them in my own garden (of which, does not yet exist). Also noteworthy were the delightful paninis Kelly made for lunch. I dare say that there may not be a better sandwich in the entire world.

After spending the better part of the day at Gene and Kelly's house, we set out northward towards Fresno for our college roommate, Brooke's, wedding. It was a beautiful outdoor ceremony. (Hot, but not nearly as hot as it might be at a wedding in, oh... say... the middle of July). Beyond Brooke & Kyle's nuptials, the highlight of the evening was spending time with the 5 girls, Brooke included, who made my college experience what it was. There's nothing better than catching up with dear friends.

The 5 of us joined Brooke on the dance floor to have one last moment together before we all went our separate ways (Most of you know that I don't dance, but, don't be scared, although I was on the dance floor, no dancing took place).

After the wedding, Gene and Kelly took me to Denise's new place where she and I stayed up into the wee hours of the morning moving furniture, examining decorating options, and talking. I joined Denise and Andrew for church in the morning and then enjoyed a relaxing train ride home Sunday afternoon. John picked me up at the train station and when I came home he had the house clean and the yard mowed. A better weekend may not exist (except for the fact that I was away from John for the better part of it :(
