John and I journeyed south to L.A. Saturday afternoon for Game 3 of the National League Division Series. We lucked out and scored the farm's tickets. Prior to the game we visited
ikea (I purchased nothing, just browsed...it's a whole lot cheaper that way), then we bought ourselves
Baja Fresh burritos and
snuck them into the game in the pockets of John's jacket (not even sure we needed to sneak them in, but it was more fun that way).
John had never seen the Dodgers win a post-season series, so he was excited. Although we were not rooting for it, we were prepared for a potential loss as we also had the farm's tickets for Sunday's game, and reserved a hotel room in nearby Arcadia for just that reason. Luckily for us the Dodgers won the game and rendered our tickets for Sunday useless (I was not excited about the prospect of a 7:35pm Sunday night game, so the Saturday night win was a much appreciated blessing...).
We enjoyed our night in the
Pasadena/Arcadia: SpringHill Suites. John especially loved their free continental breakfast and managed to stuff himself to the gills. Beyond that, we
layed around the hotel until around 11:30 so that John could watch the beginning of the
Phillies/Brewers contest. Upon departure we wandered around Pasadena, ate a late lunch, and then traveled home. It was a nice weekend.
Now for the pictures:

SO fun. You are such a great wife Katie. So supportive. I'm sure John would be equally supportive though if you were really into going to ice skating meets or whatever they are called. :)
Can you believe the 1st quarter is almost OVER!? Yeah!!! Only 3 more quarters to go.
You look like you are glowing!
Did you know that Jamie and I (and Braden) were there also? We were located in the right field pavillion (aka. "The All-You-Can-Eat Section). I, like Jon, had not seen the Dodgers clinch a playoff series and it was awesome.
Thank you for the Frantz shout-out! The pic is great, I cant believe Uncle Tom is actually looking at the camera! How fun to make a weekend out of it. If they played on Sunday, Peter was just going to drive back again, not efficient and not nearly as fun. Looking forward to the next series! Will you be going to any more games? I will be there on Sunday for sure. If I smell contraband burritos, I will be on the lookout for you :)
Hi there :) I have been reading your blog for some time now and LOVE it! I'm an old high school chum of Mark Chambless' but you and I actually have alot in common! :) All this to say that my husband was at the game also on Saturday! He ended up getting on TV twice - once for helping to bring out the flag (did you get any pictures of that?) and the second time was because he was sitting above the bullpen office where Russell Martin jumped up - he high fived him! :)
Ok, so it appears as though I don't have the only obsessive Dodger fan husband around these parts...
Casey, tell Jamie I was glad to hear I wasn't the only crazy wife who accompanied her husband to the game ;)
Cheeziemommie, so glad you popped in and left me a little note. What fun. I have gone through my pictures and have a bunch of pictures of the flag festivities, none of them are exceptionally great, but your husband may be in some of them. I also have quite a few pictures of the Russell Martin left field pavilion wall climb of which your husband sounds like he was a part. I would be happy to email them to you if you are interested. Just email me at katie.wiebe@gmail.com and I will happily send them on. So glad to become acquainted :)
