Easter Bunnies...

Every year on the Saturday before Easter the Fast family gathers at Grandma Net's for egg dying & baking. John and I managed to arrive in time to eat lunch & partake in the eating of said baked items. Easter bunnies are a Fast family tradition. My grandma makes a sweet yeast dough and then we twist the dough into 2 bunny variations.

Bunny variation #1:

A long rope is rolled (similar to the peppernut making process for those who are familiar) and then the 2 ends are twisted together to form the ears. This leaves are rather large hole towards the center of the rope, which is plenty of room to stuff a large "tail".
Bunny Variation #2:
The 2 ends are twisted in opposite directions to form a snail like shape. Two ears are added (shown on the left) and a tail (on the right) to finish off the bunny.
Both versions are equally delicious (how can you go wrong with frosting & sprinkles). They appear a bit unphotegenic in these pictures...probably because they had spent the night in the freezer & weren't at their freshest. Rest assured though, the taste was not harmed in the freezing process.
