We paint...

Our time at Pismo was not spent lounging & reading & sleeping in & playing Mexican Train as is usually the case when the 6 of us find ourselves together at the Penner beach house. Nope, this time our mission was clear...Operation "tidy up the beach house" began almost immediately upon our arrival. Paint was the overarching theme of our 5 days together. We painted the kitchen, dining area, family room, and stairwell a fantastic gray-blue color, and the cabinets and trim white. It took all of us to get the job done.

Again John's height came in quite handy as he was able to handle the awkward walls and angles of the vaulted ceiling and stairwell. Sharon manned the roller well, and Jill and I focused our efforts on the details of the trim. Bob came later in the week and used his new drill (not so much a friend to our efforts of keeping Henry asleep, unfortunately) and Jay came Sunday and helped with the cabinet leveling. We made a great team. Although some may question the sanity of a "working" vacation. I think we'd all agree that these 5 days were just a drop in the bucket in comparison to all of the Penner family generosity we've been shown over the years...especially with the use of the beach house. So...next time we venture over to Pismo we will actually get to enjoy our efforts, but until them we'll bask in the satisfaction of a job well done...or at least as well done as a bunch of amateur painters can do :)

Looks great! It's been a few years since I've seen it but I still remember, and it looks quite improved.
