Katie beats John at Monopoly!

It's official...in a game that spanned more than 24 hours and 3 separate sittings, I emerge victorious! Basking in victory is what I'm doing right now, and oh does it feel good :)

John and I have taken to having Thursday night date nights of sorts. Rotating every month, we are taking turns planning our activities. These aren't romantic sorts of dates, although I guess they could be, just more like spending time together kind of dates. September is John's month, and so far we've played Monopoly both Thursday nights. He beat me (handily) last Thursday, but this Thursday...it was all me. We started our game last night, left it on the dining room table, resumed play during John's 30-minute lunch break, and then finished up this evening. If you don't hear about another Monopoly victory by next weekend, then you can assume I lost...but if I win, you better believe I'll be posting about it. 3 cheers for (my first) monopoly victory over John!

Those are all of John's mortgaged properties on the left, and despite appearances, that is not the bank on the right...that would be my money and properties.

Congratulations! I understand how great victory can be. I won Trivial Pursuit over Dana a few months back. It was sweet!

Haha. Anyone who has had to endure John's overly competitive board game intensity can appreciate this.

I don't think I ever finished a Monopoly game! Congratulations!

Love game night! You'd be great at Scrabble. Beat Bill last night by 100+ points. Oh, yeah! He says he'll never play me again. (We're playing tonight).

Danny and I don't play Monopoly any more. He is ruthless -- I am a softy. When I am winning, I feel sorry for him and cut him some slack; when he is winning, I expect the same in return, but he is ruthless and shows no mercy. Takes the romance right out of date night!
Congratulations on your victory!
