Henry's yams...

I made some yams for Henry today. Not sure when we'll decide to officially give them to him, but when we do, we'll have them at the ready. I've never dealt with yams before. My only experience with the root vegetable is eating them at my Grandma Net's house for Thanksgiving dinner. She makes the best yams, lots of brown sugar and marshmallows...delicious! After making these, I've decided that yams are great even without the brown sugar and marshmallows. Hopefully Henry will like them too.

First, pierce the yams with a fork and bake them at 425 degrees for 45-60 minutes, or until soft enough to easily cut through with a knife.

Cut them open and let them cool.

Puree them in a food processor and then they are ready for use. Enjoy!

I love yams. Plain. No sugar. No salt or pepper. Plain. Just seven minutes in the microwave and yum!

If Henry takes after his Grandma he will love yams! Plain is my favorite as well. Grandpa always adds brown sugar and alot of butter, but I think that is over kill for this yummy vegtable.
