...new quilt.
I will be starting my second quilt shortly. Last year, I started Henry's quilt at this same time. Making his quilt was such a wonderful experience for me. I loved the whole process from picking the fabric, cutting, piecing, quilting, and binding to working with my Grandma Net for hours on end, it was probably one of the highlights of 2009 for me (second to becoming a mother, of course).
So this year, I've decided to make another quilt. I've come to the conclusion that I want every bed in my house to be dressed in a handmade quilt. Henry has a quilt, but John and I...not so much. So this quilt will be for our bed. It will be large (we have a King-sized bed) & time consuming but I can't think of anything else I'd rather be doing with my creative time than making this quilt. It might take me all year (although, I sure hope it doesn't) but I will finish it, and I will love it!
I drew my inspiration from the quilt Cindy made for Matt & Sam. In fact, I'm shamelessly copying Sam's color choices: Blues/Turquoises, Greens, Browns, Grays, & Mustards. And, I've even gone so far as to borrow Cindy's quilt pattern. I love this quilt that much!
I can't wait to get started. My fabric choices are heavy on the Anna Maria Horner & Amy Butler with some Heather Bailey thrown in for good measure. I'm pretty sure that my favorite part about making a quilt is looking at my stack of fabric before I get started. Wouldn't you agree?...
I will, of course, keep you posted on my progress.

Cant wait to see the progress!
It's been a while since I quilted, but I LOVE laying all the fabrics out like that and admiring them.
Sigh...isn't fabric wonderful?
