Shafter Depot Museum...

One of the items on our summer activity list was to go to the Shafter Depot Museum, and last weekend we did!  Henry loves going to the museum and so do John and I.  There are so many things to see and it's fun to walk around and read about our town's history.  The museum is really well curated so it's fun to visit often.  Another great thing about it is that it's within walking distance of our house!

We started outside and looked at the caboose first...

Then Henry wanted to sit on the restored John Deere tractor.  It's the only tractor at the museum that you can touch and play with so he spent a lot of time on it..

New favorite picture of Henry...

Charlie wanted to get in on the tractor action too...

After driving the tractor we went into the agricultural section of the museum which is located in a barn adjacent to the train depot.  We looked at a variety of things pertaining to Shafter's ag heritage.  Again, very well curated...

After that it was back outside for one last look at the old tractors and trains...

I would highly recommend this museum.  Maybe we will be able to squeeze in another visit before the end of summer!
