Charlie's birthday party...

We had a simple family birthday party for Charlie this weekend. I didn't really have a theme, I just wanted to include lots of color and lots of pictures of our boy.  Mission accomplished, I think.

The menu was: The Pioneer Woman's pulled pork sandwiches, BBQ chips, watermelon, and asian cabbage salad (thanks mom!).  And, of course, cupcakes made by Grandma Sharon (peanut butter & chocolate) and Aunt Jill (Strawberry & lemon)...

This little milk can with the dry branches in it has become my #1 favorite way to decorate.  It works so well to clip things to the branches with clothespins.  In this case, lots of pictures of Charlie.  The colorful tissue paper poufs were made by my friend, Shelly, for some parties she had at the end of school/beginning of summer, so she lent them to me for Charlie's party.  They were so adorable!...

I also printed all of Charlie's weekly pictures and hung them up around the tree in our yard.  Now that the party's over I have them hung up in Charlie's room.  I LOVE looking at them in there...

Charlie and me (thanks for taking this Aunt Kelly!)...

Doesn't every birthday party include Matt Kemp doing this in the flowerbeds...

Grandma Sharon made Charlie his own birthday cake...

Charlie was in dire need of a nap...

He stuck his fingers in the cake and licked them a bit, but didn't make much of a mess of his cake...

And then he was completely D-O-N-E...

He did enjoy opening presents.  Henry enjoyed helping him :)

I know I'm his mother, but isn't he just the cutest thing?!

Aunt Denise, Levi, Grandma Gail, and Aunt Kelly...

Great-Grandpa Art, Great-Grandma Donna, and Grandma Sharon watching Charlie's first birthday video.  I'll have to post this here soon!...

Aunt Kelly and Uncle Ben got Charlie some balls that you fill with water and throw at each other.  Henry and Aunt Kelly enjoyed playing with them together...

Charlie liked the water balls too...

The boys ended the party by playing with the water table and the sandbox...

We had a great time celebrating our Charlie!
