Massachusetts (Hosts: Karl & Nancy)
Our hosts in Massachusetts were Karl & Nancy. They were amazing people. Nancy is a preschool director & Karl is retired from a state gov't job. They greeted us when we first arrived and offered us water and conversation. As we talked about the farming heritage from whence we come they shared with us about their backyard garden. John and I promptly asked for a tour and were amazed by the beauty of a garden that actually gets frequent rain. They grew beautiful flowers as well as vegetables in a variety of raised flowerbeds. It was nice to meet people in the area, it gave us a sense of the life and livelihood of the people who call the Boston area home.

This is the view of the houses across the street, which are indicative of the New England neighborhoods that grace that area.
