Project: Fabric Box...

I followed the pattern from this book and am marginally pleased with the way that it turned out. In the book it does not show the lining overlapping onto the exterior of the bag, but after reading, & re-reading the directions I saw no other possible outcome. It looks fine, just not what I was going for. So now I wonder, if I used an alternate fabric to line the box, would it look ok with the overlap or not? There is a box that is larger than this one that I plan to tackle next. Maybe I'll find an answer to my overlap question with that one...
