I've been hearing about the "magic" of the 6th week almost every day since Henry was born. "You'll feel more comfortable being a mom once you hit 6 weeks." "Things start to make sense at 6 weeks." "You understand your baby better at 6 weeks." and on and on it goes. The thing is, I think there might just be something to this 6-week theory. A sense of (new) normalcy has come upon our house, and it's nice. Henry is responding well to the routine we have presented to him, John and I are feeling more comfortable with our parenting roles, and Henry just plain seems happier these days (it helps that he's begun to smile :) We are thankful for this turning point and for the many wonderful friends who told us about this "6-week magic".
Now onto the pictures:
Henry's 6 week smiles (
I told you they were intoxicating):
With stuffed animal:
6-week highlights:
- He smiles
- He is now able to entertain himself by watching his toys (on the activity mat & in the bouncer)
- He is beginning to make noises other than crying
- He likes to blow bubbles
- He still loves his stroller & riding in the car
- He likes to be around people
- He likes to cuddle & be held, but falls asleep on his own in his crib and bassinet
