Morro Bay...

We took our annual pre-season beach trip last weekend. We've been to the beach a few times since Charlie's arrival, but this was the first time to vacation with just our family of 4. It was just what we all needed to prepare ourselves for the basketball season ahead.

We started our vacation with a picnic lunch at the Atascadero Lake Park and then visited the Charles Paddock Zoo which was located right next door. It was a small zoo, but still fun. Henry is all about going to the zoo these days, so it was nice to visit a new one together as a family...

My ergo carrier is my new best friend. Charlie is pretty darn heavy, so this carrier actually makes it enjoyable for me to carry him. Yeah! I also just figured out how to put him in it all by myself, which actually means that I'll use it a whole lot more. I don't know why it took me so long to figure this out...

After the park & zoo, we headed towards Grandma Net's condo in Morro Bay. We layed around the house, took walks, went to the beach, visited the park, drove to SLO, and just generally enjoyed being together. It was a much needed few days with just the 4 of us...

It was actually really warm in Morro Bay, so we went to the beach to play in the sand...

Charlie hung out on the floor a lot...

And Henry spent lots of time playing with the Thomas the Tank Engine duplo that were there. Whoever contributed those to the condo (Jenny?) they were a huge hit!

It's hard to believe that another basketball season is already upon us! We've told Henry that when it gets cold outside, it will be basketball season. Now that we are starting to pull out the sweatshirts and jeans he keeps saying, "It's cold...it's basketball season!" It's fun to see Henry look forward to basketball season like his daddy does :)
