Pismo...

Last weekend the four of us headed to Pismo to celebrate the end of another basketball season.  This particular basketball season went really well for John.  They were league champs!  However, no matter how well the season goes, we always need a vacation afterwards to rest and reconnect.

On Friday morning we woke up and set out to walk to one of the extended Wiebe family's favorite breakfast spots: Zorro's.  The only problem with this walk is that it is 4.5 miles from the beach house.  We made it 2/3rds of the way there and Charlie was DONE with the walk (the boys were in the stroller, but still!)  The boys were melting down, were weren't even to the restaurant yet, it was misty outside, AND, the worst part, we were going to have to walk home.  Things weren't looking so great for us.  After letting Charlie walk around for a bit, we threw him back in the stroller (screaming his head off) and then John ran the boys the rest of the way there.  I enjoyed walking in silence :)  After we ate, we decided John would briskly walk home (no running after a Zorro's breakfast!) and then get the van and pick us up at the park near the restaurant.  This worked out well enough and we finally made it home by...NOON!  Totally wasted our morning, but whatever, we have a story to tell :)

So anyways, after our breakfast debacle, we recovered and had a great time!

I started working on Charlie's 2nd birthday dress shirt quilt.  (It will be similar in idea to Henry's quilt).  I started by cutting open all of the dress shirts that I got from my dad, Bob, and John, this always takes longer than I think it should.  Luckily I had the house to myself which meant I could watch HGTV in peach and quiet :)

John did lots of reading on the computer...

And of course, there were lots of cuddles for mom...

The good thing about arriving to the beach at 11pm on Thursday night is that Charlie's Friday afternoon nap was AWESOME-4 hours!...

Henry and Charlie perfected their slam dunks on the indoor basketball hoop...

There was lots of cartoon watching...

Lots of wrestling...

and lots of internetting...

Love this picture of the boys...

 And yes, even more wrestling...

We went to the beach on Saturday morning and let the boys play.  They LOVED every second of it, of course...

Love this one...

And other than that, John and Henry went golfing together one day, I visited the outlets, and John and Henry went to a Cal Poly men's basketball game, which was a highlight for both of them.  As usual, we continue to be incredibly thankful for Grandpa Art and Grandma Donna's generosity in sharing their beach house with us.  We have made so many wonderful family memories there.
