Happy 4th Birthday Henry!

Henry turned 4 years old yesterday, so we spent the whole weekend celebrating him!  On Saturday we had his baseball birthday party.  Since he had his 3rd birthday party at the fire station he originally wanted to have his 4th birthday party at the police station, but John and I convinced him that a baseball party might be a bit more enjoyable for him, so we went with that.  We started out the party with a baseball "game" at the park.  It was mostly just lots of batting practice for Henry with a few outfielders, a catcher, and lots of spectators.  Since none of Henry's uncles could be there for the game, we were lucky to have John's cousin, David and our friend Peter there to help us make the game more "official" for Henry :)  We ate hot dogs, beans, BBQ chips, carrots, and strawberries for lunch (all of Henry's favorites) and for dessert we had a baseball cake from Smith's bakery and 4 flavors of Dewar's ice cream (thanks Grandma Gail!).  It was a fun day and Henry had a great time.  He said his favorite part of the day was the baseball game :)

Henry opening his present from us: a new Dodger shirt, bat, and some foam balls.  We also gave him a (hand-me-down) bike, but he got that a few weeks ago, so no picture of that...

And here are some pictures from our baseball game.  There's not a whole lot of picture variety because a certain little almost 2-year old boy did not want to be away from mama, which meant my hands were full the whole time...

After the baseball game we came back to our house to eat lunch, cake, and open presents...

4 Fran(t)z girls on the swing set...

And here is Henry's cake.  He was SO EXCITED about his baseball cake.  He was convinced Grandma Gail knew how to make baseball birthday cakes even though that's not really her thing (not sure where he got this idea!) but Grandma Gail made his day by ordering him one from Smith's :)

And of course, after cake and ice cream we opened gifts.  Henry was begging to open them the second we got back from the baseball game, but we held him off until after dessert :)

And that's it for Henry's birthday party.  We celebrated on Sunday with a trip to the Pasadena Children's Museum and a Dodger Game to run the bases.  I'll post about that next time.  HAPPY BIRTHDAY HENRY!
