San Diego Trip: Safari Park...

On our last day in San Diego we went to the San Diego Zoo Safari Park, which worked out perfectly for us since it was about 45 minutes outside of San Diego in Escondido, which meant when we were done with the park, we were already 45 minutes or so closer to home.  The Safari Park wasn't as large as the zoo itself, but it was unique in that it had a large section of the park that was devoted to allowing a diverse collection of animals to roam in their natural habitats.  The Africa Safari tram took you through this area of the park and it was really interesting to watch the animals in this setting.  Totally worth a visit just to see this.  There were also other animals in enclosures as well as a petting zoo, which is always a hit.  And the pictures...

The tram ride...

This was the picture that Uncle Jay and Henry took together.  We didn't buy it, but I think we can appreciate their creative posing efforts :)

I really tried to get a smile out of Ruby here.  She was not interested in Aunt Katie. at all.

Almost a smile...

The petting zoo...

And our attempts at getting a good picture of the 3 kids.  This was my last chance!...

Pretty good, I think...

Another good one...

And that's it, party's over, the kids are done :)

And a picture of the kids with Grandpa Bob & Grandma Sharon.  I think I took about 20 of these pictures and, unfortunately, Henry is making this face in ALL of them.  Which means, of course, that Ruby is looking down at him in most of them too.  Oh well :)

Although this one turned out pretty well, I think...

And that's it for our San Diego trip.  We had a great time and would highly recommend each of the parks that we visited.  Thanks Grandpa Bob & Grandma Sharon for the great Christmas gift!

I love the kids' posing antics. Henry has really picked up on posing, Charlie seems to enjoy regardless, and Ruby is so seeerious!
