Friday-Sunday we spent the weekend with my parents in Carpinteria. On Sunday afternoon, we drove to Pismo to spend time with our dear friends Derek & Julie Stutzman at the Uhl beach house. On a whim we decided to call John's grandparents and inquire about the Penner beach house activities. It appeared to them that no one was there and they agreed to let us stay there for the night. This worked out perfectly for us as it allowed us to record our new Smashball record in the House Journal. This record is believed (by us) to have shattered all previous records in existence (at least that we are aware of). The new record, if you can believe it is...1,000! (and no, we're not kidding). We achieved this seemingly impossible score on the shores of Carpinteria (which may not count for the Pismo Beach House record we realize, but it was a noteworthy accomplishment to record in the journal none-the-less). John caught the ball at 1,000 which is why it ended with the even score.
Other noteworthy events that ocurred over the weekend:
- John now has a new favorite breakfast restaurant in Pismo- "Penny's All American Cafe" (He couldn't stop talking about their home fries)
- My first eggplant was purchased at Avila Valley Barn.
- I made my first meal with eggplant (Vegetarian Lasagna...very delicious...especially after the "All American Home Fries")
