House Project: Hourglass Picture Frames...

I saw this photo arrangement on a blog somewhere and fell in love with it instantly. Sharon and I were talking about it last Friday night at John's basketball game when I realized that I already had the frames to accomplish it, I just needed to print the photos. I jumped on the computer and uploaded a few pictures to Costco, and once printed, I was ready to begin. So, being the wonderful husband that he is, John volunteered (he even brought it up to me...after seeing the frames lying about for a few hours...subtle hinting on my part) to hang the pictures without my help (that's how I had the time to finish this apron). Here is the finished project. I still have a few things that I'm not sure about. For instance, is the photo placement too high on the wall? Is the centering between the kitchen window and the kitchen doorway appropriate or off? If you have any thoughts feel free to share them.
The photo arrangement.
I went with a picture of John on the top and me on the bottom as sort of bookends for the arrangement. The two pictures with the white mats are pictures of our dads with their kids (no in-laws included) and the center picture is of John and his cousins + Uncle Steve in their last DMR race. It was the only 8 x 10" picture that I had and I have been wanting to frame it for awhile.

Me trying to be creative with my photography. All that really means is that I turned the camera at an angle (I don't know how to do anything else.)

The arrangement in context.

Katie,
I like that the DMR picture is in the middle. It represents the role of the event in our lives, which flow out of it like so many spokes. The whole thing really speaks to me. Good work with the hammer, John.

Excellent creativity! the way you have presented your Pic Frames looks very beautiful. The position of hanging the picframes at the centre of the wall really looks amazing . Thanks for giving me an idea of making my home better with good pic frames like this.
