A casserole carrier...

Once a month, Charis and Shelly and I get together to sew. We've made skirts, tops, robes for the kids, quilt blocks, and probably a few other things I'm forgetting about. It's a lot of fun to sew together. I especially like it because they are both much better seamstresses than I am and I am learning a lot from them!

This month we decided to make casserole carriers. Shelly found this tutorial and so we followed it and they came out perfectly. Charis and I weren't exactly sold on the casserole carrier idea at first, but I'm so glad Shelly pushed us to do it. I am loving the way it turned out and now I am itching to take someone dinner or go to a potluck to put my carrier to use!

Shelly used her fancy new sewing machine to embroider my name on the handle wrap (I love it!)...

These next 3 pictures show the completed carrier minus the handle wrap shown above. (I hadn't sewn it on prior to taking these pictures)...

The fabric is the Denyse Schmidt line for Joanne's Fabrics. It is so picnic-y and fun!
