I was a little bit scared of the hominy in this recipe, but it turned out to be quite good. If you are unfamiliar with hominy (I was until just a few days ago), there is a great description of it
here. If you enjoy a good sweet potato & like a nice Mexican soup, then this recipe is for you. I found it in this month's issue of Better Homes & Gardens, but you can find it online
here.
*And obviously the photo above was not taken by me, but came from the BHG website.

Sounds so good! Where did you find the pre-made pork in BBQ sauce?
Reminds me that I've been meaning to try this recipe: http://find.myrecipes.com/recipes/recipefinder.dyn?action=displayRecipe&recipe_id=1932650
Alli
Alli, I cooked a pork tri-tip in BBQ sauce in the crockpot and then threw it in the soup. I didn't buy it pre-made, so I don't know where it can be found.
A fabulous recipe, easy to make, and a real taste treat! Recipe can easily be altered to substitute ingredients (e.g., shredded smoked turkey + BBQ sauce instead of pre-packaged shredded BBQ pork) or add a few extras such as black beans, sliced celery, shredded carrots, etc.
